Atlas Logistics · Freight & Supply Chain · 2025

Rebuilding the nervous system of a forty-year freight operator.

A regional freight leader was running a national operation on fourteen disconnected systems and institutional memory. We unified dispatch, tracking and billing into one operational platform — without stopping a single truck.

01

Challenge

Atlas moved freight across nine states, but every shipment passed through fourteen systems that didn't talk to each other. Dispatchers re-keyed the same order up to five times. Customer service couldn't answer 'where is my shipment?' without three phone calls. Growth had stalled — not for lack of demand, but because every new customer added operational drag the company could no longer absorb.

02

Approach

We spent the first three weeks inside their dispatch floor, not their codebase. Riding along with drivers, sitting beside dispatchers at 5 a.m., and mapping every handoff revealed that the real product wasn't software — it was certainty. From there we sequenced the work so the highest-friction handoffs were eliminated first, proving value before any system was retired.

01Three-week operational discovery embedded with dispatch, drivers and billing
02Unified data model across orders, fleet and customers before any UI work
03Phased rollout per terminal, with old systems kept warm until trust was earned
04Dispatcher-led design reviews every Friday — the floor shaped the product

Solution

A single operational platform: live dispatch board, automated load matching, customer-facing tracking, and billing that reconciles itself overnight. The fourteen legacy systems were retired in waves over seven months. AI-assisted load planning now proposes assignments dispatchers approve in one click — the judgment stays human, the re-keying is gone.

Outcome

38%
faster dispatch turnaround
$4.1M
annual operating savings
14 → 1
systems consolidated

They didn't show up with a platform to sell us. They showed up at 5 a.m. on our dispatch floor. Everything that followed was built on actually understanding how freight moves.
